Does the BON office award scholarships to persons with disabilities?
No. Scholarships are awarded by the Student Affairs Office.
Can I receive a scholarship for persons with disabilities and funding from Active Local Government at the same time?
Yes, these are two independent forms of support.
Where to apply for a scholarship for persons with disabilities?
The application should be submitted via the mojeaeh.vizja.pl platform in the “Applications” tab.

For what period is the scholarship for persons with disabilities awarded?
The scholarship is awarded for 1 semester, to continue, you must re-apply.

What documents do I need to attach to my support application?
In order to obtain an Adaptation Card, you must submit an adaptation application, a signed information clause and consent to the processing of personal data, as well as a current disability certificate and/or appropriate medical documentation valid for 90 days on the date of submission of the application.
FINANCING FOR STUDIES FROM THE AKTYWNY SAMORZĄD PROGRAM
I want to use funding from the Aktywny Samorząd, where should I send the blank certificate template to be completed by the University?
- If you are just starting your studies at our University and are currently in the recruitment process, please send the certificate template to: aktywnysamorzad@vizja.pl
- If you are already a student and are applying for Aktywny Samorząd again, please contact your program coordinator at the Student Affairs Office.
Where can I get a certificate template?
You can obtain a certificate template from the unit dealing with Aktywny Samorząd in your place of residence (e.g. PCPR, MOPS) or on the website of that unit.
BON SUPPORT
What should you do to get support?
Please contact the BON Office. Further procedures will then determine possible forms of support.
Can only a person with a certified degree of disability benefit from the support of the BON Office?
No. The BON office also provides assistance to persons with special needs, such as those with disabilities without a certificate, those with chronic illnesses, mental health issues, mobility, vision, hearing, speech, and reading difficulties. Persons with other disabilities can also apply for support (current documentation confirming the barriers is required).
What types of support can I apply for?
A person with a recognized disability degree can apply for an Adaptation Card. Adaptations that can be granted include extended exam and assessment time, a change in the exam format, support from a teaching assistant and sign language interpreter, and adapted language courses. We also offer specialized equipment rentals. Furthermore, such a person is eligible for a disability grant. It is also possible to take advantage of the Aktywny Samorząd program (supported by the State Fund for the Rehabilitation of Disabled People).
Who decides on the form and type of aid granted?
The decision is made by the dean of the relevant department after the recommendation of the BON.
For how long is support granted?
Depending on the student’s individual situation. Applications for support are considered individually based on the student’s situation.

Can a person with a disability receive financial support from the university?
Yes, a person with a valid disability certificate can apply for a scholarship for persons with disabilities.
Are there adapted sports and recreational activities for people with disabilities?
Yes, the University organizes adapted sports and recreational activities in specially adapted rooms, they do not include PE classes.
Are there adapted language courses for people with disabilities?
Yes, it is possible to organize adapted individual or group lessons and take the exam with the same teacher.
Does the University provide a sign language interpreter?
The university provides interpreters in Polish Sign Language on-site and online, and also uses the services of online interpreters (MIGAM).
Does the University provide teaching assistant support for persons with disabilities?
Yes, if the submitted documentation and the conversation with the student indicate that this form of support would be adequate.
Who is a teaching assistant for a person with a disability?
A teaching assistant is a person designated to assist a student with a disability or special needs with challenges related to their university education. Assistance includes note-taking, communicating during classes and with study-related matters, and providing ad hoc assistance with activities related to the teaching process. The form of assistance provided is tailored to the student’s needs.
Is it possible to adapt teaching materials to the needs of blind people?
Yes, teaching materials can be adapted to the needs of blind people.
INDIVIDUAL ORGANIZATION OF STUDIES
What does Individual Organization of Studies (IOS) mean?
An Individual Organization of Studies entitles the student to a separate schedule or method of implementing the study program, conditions for participation in classes and their completion, deadlines for assessments and exams resulting from the study program, method and deadlines for implementing student internships, and other student obligations.
Who should I contact to obtain IOS?
The application should be submitted to the dean of the given department via the student system Mojeaeh.pl
DISABILITY DEGREE CERTIFICATE
Do I have to provide my disability certificate?
There is no obligation to do so, but if you apply for a scholarship for persons with disabilities or want to use the support of the Disability Support Centre, it is necessary.
What should I do if the disability certificate expires during the academic year?
Please send a certificate confirming your application for a new certificate to bon@vizja.pl, and we will extend its validity in the system. This is important if you are applying for a scholarship for persons with disabilities.
BON OFFICE
Is the BON the same as the Student Affairs Office, but for persons with disabilities?
No, the Office for Persons with Disabilities does not perform the same functions as the Student Affairs Office. We primarily organize support and adapt the learning process. We do not provide administrative support to students regarding their studies (e.g., student ID cards, applications).
Where is the Office for Persons with Disabilities located?
The Office for Persons with Disabilities is located in the VIZJA University building at 59 Okopowa Street in room 233 on the second floor.

The BON office is open from 8:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. all week, except Thursday.
