Adapted language courses are an alternative form of foreign language learning designed for students who, for health reasons, are unable to attend the standard foreign language courses organised by the university.

Adapted language courses are preceded by an assessment of students’ individual needs and abilities in terms of foreign language learning.

These courses are delivered using methods and techniques tailored to the diverse needs of persons with special needs, including those with disabilities. The participants in these adapted language courses are most often blind or deaf people, or those with other conditions that prevent them from actively and fully participating in standard classes.

Adapted language courses are held online. They are taught by tutors with many years’ experience of working with persons with special needs, including those with disabilities.

The number of language classes varies depending on the mode of study:

  1. Full-time study: 30 hours per semester
  2. Part-time study: 16 hours per semester

The following classes are offered as part of the adapted language courses:

  1. Group classes
  2. One-to-one classes

To take part in adapted language courses:

  1. Please complete the Adaptation Card application form, ticking the box for ‘adapted foreign language courses’, and submit the correctly completed form to BON. Further information on the Adaptation Card application.
  2. Submit the application by the deadline specified on the BON website. Application deadlines are set twice a year. For the current semester, the application must be submitted by 5 March 2026.
  3. The application can be: sent by email as a scan to: bon@vizja.pl, delivered in person to the BON office, room 233, or sent by post to the university’s address, marked ‘BON’.
  4. If participation in language classes is justified and constitutes a necessary form of adaptation of the educational process, the BON office will notify the student of the approval of the application, and the student will be able to register for the adapted language class and discuss with the BON office the rules and dates for participation in the adapted language classes.
