The Office for Persons with Disabilities – “BON” is an organisational unit of VIZJA University, established in 2008 as a permanent part of the University’s structure, responsible for supporting the University’s various departments and administrative units in ensuring the University is fully accessible.

The BON team undertook training in the evacuation of people in emergency situations using a stair-climbing device. BON’s mission is to ensure that persons with special needs, including those with disabilities, have the opportunity to participate fully in the life of the University and the academic community, including during admissions, education, research, participation in cultural and sporting events, and employment.

BON employs specialists with expertise and many years of experience in communicating with and supporting persons with special needs, including those with disabilities.

The BON team works closely with:

29 teaching assistants

10 sign language interpreters

2 English teachers delivering adapted language lessons

A physiotherapist leading adapted sports and leisure activities

3 psychologists, including 1 on permanent duty and 2 leading support groups

A psychiatrist on call for people in crisis situations

Career advisor/career coach

BON is located in a building with full accessibility, ensuring that all services are accessible and that meetings and consultations are conducted in complete privacy. The service centre is situated in a building free of architectural barriers.
